I perceive Leadership as more of an action than a position. While I have witnessed a massive advent of digitisation in recent years as an engineering scholar and as someone who knows the industry, I concur that technology, no matter how advanced, can & will be replicated. However, the legacy disrupting brands are coherently the ones driven by the right teams and good managers.
The MS in Management program at UC Denver is my first choice. It extends a curriculum beyond the business numbers and focuses on developing broader leadership skills, People Management aptitude and aids in understanding and curating an Ambidextrous Organisation Ecosystem.
After completing my BTech in Civil Engineering in 2021, I have genuine aspirations to start my construction firm. I want to leverage my technological skills in neo-modern technologies such as IoT to deliver a profitable business model that focuses on building sustainable urban infrastructure under the purview of technology and material science.
The MS program will aid me in accruing essential business skills to manage the remote teams, project execution, and primarily to comprehend the project management learning outcomes and deliver pristine success with my ecologically conscious entrepreneurial venture.
2. Give a candid appraisal of yourself in terms of your strengths and weaknesses, and discuss how you could contribute to the learning experiences of others, and how you will manage your weaknesses through your education process.
It is rather uncanny that a person struggling with obesity in senior school with 94 kg of body weight was chosen to deliver a keynote on physical fitness in his college to commemorate International Yoga Day. The relentless pursuance of good things is my talisman in life. Once determined, I conquer adversities with grit and diligence, whether in personal or academic endeavors.
Hitherto completed three of India’s most arduous trekking routines, I have completed the 950+km bike road via the highest motorable route in India (The Leh Highway). I continuously strive to enable people in my close acquaintance to follow a healthy lifestyle and often break the conventional perimeters to acquire new knowledge and skills.
Academically, I was able to gain expansive knowledge through my school tenure and studying the four rigorous curricula of BTech. I am adept with the technicalities of infrastructure development & design civil construction processes and prudent use of construction material. I would however like to better my business management skills and nullify this gap between technology and management through formal education. An MS in Management will expose me to effective organisational practices, especially from an entrepreneur’s perspective, while managing intelligible teams and professionals.
