Education Background
My lettered parents ensured a resourceful academia and I have been mindful to exercise the given opportunities with self-discipline and diligence. I concluded my Senior Schooling, Suma Cum Laud in (year) from (School name, City, Country). Thereafter, I studied at the (college name) to complete my Bachelors of Science with a concentration on Criminology. I was able to successfully complete the Criminology Board Exam in 2016; much to the delight of my family as both my father and brother have been actively working in the criminology field in Philippines. Reminiscing today, my decision to study criminology was a definitive outcome of parental influence and with the noble intention of nurturing the family legacy.
Professional Background
Post concluding my undergraduate education, I (mention what you did during 2016 – 2019).
In 2020, I formally joined the Philippines Police Force; deriving the satisfaction of serving my homeland and fellow citizens. However, I also realized with conviction that my vocational goals are more entrepreneurial in nature rather being in public services and therefore, I have decided to pursue a career which I am passionate about since my formative years. In Australia, I am currently employed with (Co. Name) since (joining date, year) and working as a (designation).
Relevance of your course of study to your academic and/ or employment background
For the past 1.5 years working in the police force, I have found favor with the work roles entrusted to me but the yearning to pursue my passion for creativity and building things never faded. Soon I discovered that working in the force is not a long term career plan for me. I achieve immense gratification off ideating and building things from building materials. Even as a kid, a set of plastic tools was my favourite toy that I lunged around everywhere I went. The memory of my first carpentry work is still afresh in my mind as if it was just yesterday. My father gave me a bundle of scrap wood pieces that I nailed together to create a flat board. I have since made and completed many projects including furniture and artifacts from wooden and metallic material and small furniture and artifacts
I fully acknowledge that my undergraduate education and work experience may not be related to my career choice however, the vocation of construction and infrastructure building triggers excellence and passion within me. I am certain that following my instinct in this case is the most logical choice and will undoubtedly transcend into success, I am also utterly grateful to my wife who unconditionally supports me in this endeavor. I have very definitive business plans after completing my education.
After gaining much anticipated training through the proposed Certificate Course, I will be returning to Philippine and setting up my construction business in Dipaculao, Aurora. I have close family ties in Dipaculao as it is my wife’s hometown and also is a budding tourist destination in Philippines. The surreal coastal municipality offers brilliant creative & turn key projects for reliable construction contractors. I have pre planned for this opportunity and have already sufficed for essential requisites that my venture will require. Thus, I concur that formal training in a progressive institute like EIP will boost my ambition with knowledge that I will treasure for life.
Reason for choosing to undertake the course at EIP in Gold Coast QLD
I have been living at the Gold Coast since (mention Month, Year). While I am mesmerized with the culture and locales, I have also been able to gather crucial insights about coastal architecture and the nuances that it involves. I feel lucky to be in this part of the world especially during the ongoing pandemic as the city and the province has reported one of the least cases of the viral infections, anywhere in the world. It is only after labor of research and much to my delight that I have discovered that EIP is offering a Certificate Course in Carpentry which is optimal to my learning needs and in a location where I already have a support system in terms of friends and family and simultaneously offers protection from the pandemic. I am confident that the environment of Gold Coast will enable to pursue undeterred learning. I am also feel luck of the fact that the location of EIP, Gold Coast s only 9 hours away by air from Philippines.
I was introduced to the Trade Course in Carpentry offered at the EIP, Gold Coast by one of my friends who is currently pursuing this program. I was impressed with the promotional video he showed me and then carried out due diligence in research to discover that the program is curated to ensure that the students gain real world applicative knowledge through the excellent infrastructure and project work. The Carpentry Course at EIP offers versatile skill learning avenues that will be immensely helpful for my construction business.
I have taken an on-site classroom session at the EIP and am certain the small class size and the expert faculty at the institute will enhance my skill praxis in the best possible manner. The curriculum is well laid out and covers critical tool handling skills, refurbishing and construction techniques for domestic and commercial establishments. Through the course, I will be able to interpret architectural plans and drawings, calculate pitches and slopes and learn about the essential best practices in implementing safety measures in construction industry. I ardently look forward to my theory and practicum training at EIP and to embellish my knowledge bank for the success of my entrepreneurial venture.
Reasons for choosing to study in Australia rather than home country
Australian education system and infrastructure is hands down superior to most Asian countries. Especially the liberal education streams such as the one that I have chosen ensues applied and experiential learning and prepares students to be industry ready. In my home country, a similar course is not available, very diploma courses offered by the Skill development Ministry cover some of the aspects of carpentry and construction, yet they lack in comprehension, course material and especially in the work shop infrastructure.
One of the primary reasons that I have chosen to study the Certificate III Carpentry Course in Australia at EIP is because the program includes the study unit CPCCWHS1001 which extensively covers about the safety guidelines of working in the construction industry. This is a mandatory requirement for anyone who wants to work in the construction industry and reflects one’s competence and dexterity in following best safety practices. The unit is also commonly referred as the ‘White Card’.
The certificate course at the English in Paradise includes compulsory, unpaid employment, which will enable to learn on the work place in a developed world setting handling cutting edge technologies and design work. The experience will be very valuable to me and I am committed to deliver superlative results from the training I receive in Australia. I vehemently aspire to emulate the design and execution that I learn here while nurturing my construction business in Philippines.
Relevance of the course to your future career
I got married to my better half in the August of 2018. She is a pillar of support and from our early marriage days, we have planned to start a business in the Philippines, primarily in my wife’s hometown, Dipaculao, Aurora. I am focused to succeed with my construction business as this is an ideal new market opportunity and favors new ideas and innovation. There is a visible shortage of carpentry workers and forms in Aurora which places me favorably to gain commercially out of this opportunity.
Although the pandemic has deeply dented the tourist inflow to Dipaculao, Aurora in 2020, I am confident that with =vaccine driven normalcy and ease of travel restrictions, the place will rebound with roaring success. As per the official Government data, over 1.3 million tourists visited Aurora in 2019, considering that the town’s total population is only close to 30,000, the tourism industry will offer tremendous work opportunities for the natives of Aurora such as me and my wife. While I am focused to promote sustainable building methods as they also align with the eco-tourism that Aurora is famous for, my wife aspired to start a global cuisine restaurant in Aurora.
I have opted to study the Certificate III Carpentry course in Australia to become a technically competent carpenter and to gain important insights about construction using natural materials and through sustainable methods. As a future business owner and being passionate creator, learning the fundamental skills for the construction trade can widen my understanding of the industry and about pristine execution of design.
Motivations of returning home upon completion of the course
After successful completion of the course, I am committed to go back in the Philippines with my wife to start my construction business. We are an established household in Philippines with close family ties with both my immediate family and my in-laws. I and my wife have considerable assets in forms of savings and land bank (details attached with the letter) in Philippines, which we would be using for our future business ventures. I am very close to my parents and brother and they wholeheartedly respect and adulate my wife. We are aware that business initiatives require perseverance and a support system that can only be facilitated in our home country with our family being on our side and where we will be able to enjoy all benefits applicable to bona fide citizens. Moreover, because my wife is the only child, she really misses being away from her parents and is eager to join them after I complete my training in Australia.
Lastly, I hope to have addressed my eligibility to study in Australia effectively and request a propitious review of my application. Should you have any further concerns regarding my candidacy, I will be most eager to address through an email, phone call or a personal interview.
