I am a web designer and a coding enthusiast with a fundamental understanding of PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS principles. I wish to enhance my skill sets during the course of this program. There is a small story which tells me why I’ve decided to pursue this course. Last year ( ) I was using barcode scanning on both cell phones and PCs to automate inventory operations, I created a basic app in Swift and a local program in C#, which enhanced labor efficiency by 80% and saved costs by 50%. This was a huge accomplishment for me and this made me ask myself, ‘what is my true potential?’. Since then, I’ve been at this battle with myself only. My father used to tell me that the horizon is not the limit, if we dare to walk forward then the horizon will also extend according to our vision. Therefore, I’ve been hustling to grab more and more skills to know my capabilities.

What makes you interested in the MCIT program?
What attracted me towards this course and got me interested was the fact that it provides an advanced level of knowledge of computer science to students who have no related experience in the field. It offers an opportunity to those who want to give their career a fresh start and a new perspective.
Despite the fact that I am not a computer science student, I have always used my computer skills to innovate in every position I can. I’ve been studying computer skills online as I’ve progressed through my professions. All of my online studies have paid off in my professional life. Using the computer skills that I’ve acquired; I’ll be able to complete my work more quickly and effectively. However, I learned that in order to comprehend what’s going on behind all of these programming tools and languages, I needed to brush up on my computer science fundamentals, expand my current understanding, and comprehend what is happening on under all of these coding languages and tools.
How will you benefit from the program?
I will gain the necessary skills and knowledge about coding and the different languages to code, developing web pages, and learn how to navigate the world of e-commerce by enrolling in MCIT. The course will enable me to broaden my understanding of UX and UI design. It will also open my eyes to the unlimited opportunities of leveraging the internet and technology to take my business idea across national borders.
I’ve built a few e-commerce websites for my clients, each with my own customized code and unique features. In just three months, these functions have improved revenue by 40%. I trust that the course will broaden my understanding of e- commerce websites and provide me with additional opportunities to study the concepts and be inventive. This training would pave the way for me to accomplish my ambitions of starting a business and developing an e-commerce portal.
Why will you succeed in the program?
Once I put my mind onto a task, a fire is ignited in my heart, and I work with all my mind and soul to achieve the desired results. When my dreams and career are at stake, I’m ready to tread any path, no matter how challenging it is. This is my biggest strength. I’m a survivor and not afraid to pull all-nighters. I’ve only yielded good results all my life and would not let this record break. Only cowards are afraid to take risks and make efforts. I, on the other hand, am sure that I’ll be able to cope up and conquer every hurdle that will come my way. In reference to this statement, I would like to highlight that I’ve taken courses for computer-related skills online using Udemy, I’ve spent roughly 4 hours per day learning concepts like algorithms, data structures and coding languages like Python, CSS, Node.js, React, JavaScript, Swift, HTML, MongoDB, Express and WordPress. I used to get up early and start studying for approximately an hour. I had another three hours of studying following dinner. during which I revisited the day’s learning and completed a quick preview of the next day’s topics before going to bed. I have a zeal for what I do and am committed to success.
At the College of the Desert, I scored a 3.92/4 GPA, majoring in business administration. In 2015, I graduated from UCLA and received a degree in Economics. I took the GRE in May 2021 and scored 336/340.
All of this proves my passion for this subject and how much committed I am once I put my mind onto a task. And this is the reason my guts say that I will surely succeed in this program.
How will you contribute to the MCIT community?
I will serve the MCIT community by answering or offering solutions to common queries that I believe I am knowledgeable about. I had the luxury of reviewing some of the community questions and responses, and I think I would be able to provide satisfactory answers to the majority, if not all, of the questions asked. I can help by offering encouragement and advice to anybody who appears to be in need. I’ve been an online motivational speaker and can also inspire others because I’ve bravely faced and triumphed over all of the stones that life has thrown at me. I may also help the community by offering advice to my juniors. My contribution, I believe, can also be made by telling my narrative at the conclusion of the course.
How do you plan to incorporate an average of 15 hours per week per course of studies into your lifestyle?
An average of 15 hours per week per course is about a little more than 2 hours each day. I intend to study for roughly 4-6 hours per day. Also, as the course begins, I’ll allocate my time for studying over the week based on whether or not my past knowledge will come in handy. The program’s online teaching format is ideal for my lifestyle. Online learning allows me to concentrate on my studies rather than waste time and energy on commuting.
Please describe your career goals and how the MCIT Online curriculum will help to achieve them.
IT is the guiding factor behind a global company, and any businessperson with an IT background or skill set has the edge over the market. IT provides businesses with technologies that make it easier to conduct operations at a lesser cost and more efficiently. I want to merge my business talents and computer science knowledge to create a long-lasting firm. This program gives me optimism since I’ve witnessed many entrepreneurs develop and flourish in their enterprises due to expanding their business abilities and learning IT. By bringing IT concepts to business, it will assist me in becoming more creative and imaginative.
I’m driven by my passion for creating an e-commerce platform and website. To accomplish my dream, I require to absorb all there is to know about how we can design a website that has a user-friendly interface that can connect to the target audience and customers across all platforms. I’d like to design an interface that enables mobile users to view the website without having to download a play store app.
I am not planning just to be a programmer or developer. Still, I would like to utilize computer knowledge further to innovate the business world and create a better life for people. I am particularly interested in the elective courses, such as Intro to Robotics, Blockchains & Cryptography, Computer Vision & Computational Photography, and Wireless Communications for Mobile Networks.
Another ambition I have is to learn to work as part of a team and to give fresh concepts to the world of business and the IT community to make businesses lucrative for both corporations and communities. The training puts me on the correct track to becoming a successful IT executive and entrepreneur.
Given that the program is designed for people without a CS background, if you feel that your resume could be perceived as overqualified, please explain why MCIT Online is right for you?
Though I have had some online courses in the past but that doesn’t make me overqualified for this course. I feel that my little skills are all lacking and cannot be applied as they are into developing a sweeping business idea. I need this course to polish my skills and put the finishing touch that the canvas of my career lacks. MCIT will be the stepping stone to me achieving my dream and having a career that makes me successful and inspires those who will come after me in search of opportunities like this. And personally, I feel that no amount of education is ever enough for a person as there is always something new to learn and room for improvement. I have the desire to study and all the qualifications to be able to pursue this program. Assist me in this journey to make myself better in my skills and discover my true limits.
