From day-to-day chores to running large-scale corporations, everything is connected with technology. The long-term prospect of the field led me to develop a keen interest in Graduate Certificate in Information Technology Leadership. Moreover, being a Master of Information Technology Leadership pathway influenced me to zero in on my decision to apply for the course tendered by Deakin University, Burwood, Melbourne, Australia.
I belong to a progressive family and the only son of my parents, my father is a retired Accountant & Justice of Peace in Colombo, and my mother is a housewife. Since my early days, I have learnt the ethics and fundamentals to stay grounded and had a great ambition for pursuing a technical career.
I completed my schooling at St Joseph’s College, Colombo, and also obtained a National Diploma in Computer Systems Design at National Institute of Business Management, Colombo, Sri Lanka, in 1995. Throughout my academics, I followed a methodical approach and a systematic way to learn the technicalities involved.

Highlighting my professional career, I am the co-founder of iGreenData Pty Ltd that works on high-end Digital Engineering. I have led and organized the “go-to-market” strategy and employed all the necessary organizational policies and functionalities to boost productivity and profit, being the co-founder and Joint Managing Director. I have also fostered seed capital against the debt equity and went for effective negotiation for earning working capital. Being the Co-founder I was instrumental in instituting a financial management framework, customer relationship and both marketing & Sales endeavours.
Prior to this, I was associated with COGNIZANT technology Solution Pty Ltd as a Director IT Delivery and Client Service Executive between April 2015 and September 2018. I was keenly involved with the company’s growth strategy in Australia and was instrumental in infusing the cognizant team with local settings. Moreover, I led the team to identify the potentials, apply the right solutions, and close an exciting deal of USD 65 million at the APAC level of Cognizant Global after optimistic negotiation. Since I was placed in a higher position, I have represented the company in different forums and furthered brand awareness.
Before joining Cognizant, I was a part of TELSTRA Corporation LTD, Melbourne as a Solution Manager from September 2013 to March 2015 and handled the responsibilities of enhancing and managing stakeholder interactions with BPMI COE and always worked with the aim of achieving better stakeholder gratification.
I have also worked in TELSTRA Corporation LTD as an IT Operation Services Manager from March 2012 to August 2013 and managed the team accountable for making application-in-service and defining the models B2BGW- NBN-Telstra’s gateway into NBN Co. and eBPM- PEGA BPMS tool to service TOPs.
From March 2011 to March 2012, I was allied to TELSTRA Corporation Ltd as the Program Delivery Manager and instrumental in managing the delivery of the program of work for BPMI COE. I have also provided the necessary guidance to the delivery team for managing intensified risks, along with handling the periodic review of delivery and financial health.
I has also taken the charge of end-to-end Project Delivery of the B2B Gateway Initiatives and was the single point of contact. I had managed the PoW for B2B gateway featuring PayTV, logistics and Sensis domains.
I have gone through the program structure and am particularly enthusiastic for the same as I am hopeful that taking the course will directly influence my line of work. Successful completion of the course will help me gain much-needed recognition for my existing skills. Furthermore, I will reach my full potential by employing my work experience and authenticating the skills acquired in the workplace. I prefer this course to certify my years of experience and also for transforming the IT management experience by having a world-class master degree. Last but not least, Deakin University endorses my current work experience and abilities, which I have gained over the years by working in the field of IT management. I shifted to Australia in 2002 looking for better prospects, and it is already 20 years in the country, so I can manage the prerequisites defined for foreign students.
Scanning through my Professional endeavour, you can realize I am a well-known IT leader, but I don’t have the degree to validate my years of experience. Therefore, I wish to have a formal certification to complement my 22 years of technical endeavour. Moreover, I am immensely hopeful that the Masters from Deakin University will secure the position of green data Cofounder and make me recognize it on the international stage.
