Statement of Purpose:
Studying about the globalized world economy stimulated my interest in learning about the intricacies of globalization and its impact on business entities. I was inspired to learn more about diverse business models and how one fared against the other. Throughout my student years, I have always found myself to be drawn to the subjects of management. Coming from Pakistan, I tremendous development in the country in the past few decades. The advent of international business and conglomerates in the country catalyzed the development narrative of Pakistan.

However, it also brought to the fore several deep-seated problems. There was a newfound need for industry-ready individuals trained to take up management roles. I started perusing books magazines and journals related to business models and entrepreneurship. From my self-study and groundwork on the variegated aspects of management, I conjectured that it was important to get an advanced degree in management to prepare myself for future roles.
I always harboured an avid interest in the subject which is why I chose to study a bachelor in commerce program after graduating from high school. After completing high school, even though I was inundated with several academic prospects, I decided that I wanted to further my academic pursuits in the field of management. I took up the bachelor of commerce program at the University of Punjab Pakistan where I go the opportunity to delve into the profundities of the subject of management. I studied subjects such as banking, business law, finance, economics, auditing and cost accounting. The undergraduate program also helped me get a better understanding of the subject. However, I understood that to get a broad-gauged understanding of the discipline, an MBA degree would be essential.
With this aim, I got enrolled in the MBA degree at the University of Sargodha. in course of my MBA degree, I further strengthened my understanding of concepts such as project management, marketing, business communication and corporate finance. I also learnt about advanced concepts such as the analysis of Financial Statements. After completing my studies, I started working with Fas Gas Lloydminster in Alberta, Canada as the Store Supervisor from June 2013 to May 2014. I was responsible for the day-to-day operation of the gas station and adjacent convenience store. I was also responsible for scheduling and building strong relationships with the customers. I have also worked for Shell Lloydminster AB
as their Store manager from May 2014 to May 2016. Gaining experience and expertise in this industry, I resolved that I wanted to work in this sector. I now own and manage a Fas Gas station in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada. Pursuing another MBA degree from the University of Alberta will give me the knowledge and skills necessary to manage my business better.
I have chosen to study for the MBA degree from the University of Alberta for its trade-relevant curriculum and eminent faculty. I am also excited to learn alongside passionate peers from across the world. The program will help me get an all-encompassing knowledge about management. Through the program, I want to gain an international frame of reference on the diverse sub-disciplines of management to be able to better run my enterprise and scale-up in the future. I hope to get selected into the program as an MBA degree will help me in accomplishing my aim of sustainably upscaling my business.
