Since a very tender age, I have been fortunate enough to have a conducive atmosphere at my home, which has facilitated me to achieve success in my academic endeavours and let me set ambitious goals. Moreover, I had a penchant for accomplishing tasks with an extra-ordinary approach, which was far different from my fellow students. This brought several opportunities to manage people in different environments — at school, field trips, and more. I have had an experiental journey so far and gotten to enjoy thoroughly the opportunities that my home country has had to offer so far. Academically, I studied my chosen subjects and disciplines diligently and scored well in them. Post concluding my senior secondary and higher senior secondary school with an 8.0 GPA and 69.6%, respectively, I pursed the Bachelor of Commerce from Satavahana University. The program provided an acceptable apprehension of significant aspects of commerce and information technology. Its initial modules focused on improving computer literacy and managing the use of computer software in areas such as finance, insurance, and more. The course also enhanced my knowledge of requisite concepts and analytical and problem-solving skills.
All these experiences further fueled my intrinsic passion for Project Development. Now I’m at a phase of my life where I’d like to fully explore my creative potential in the domain above by procuring a seat in the Project Development program that the the University of Law dispenses. By pursuing the program, I will comprehend advanced theories and practices of modern management and gain mastery over the skills required to direct and coordinate with human and material resources and oversee every aspect incorporating planning, designing, implementation, monitoring, control, and closure. It will undoubtedly help me in taking up assignments with pioneering corporate players. The course will develop specialist knowledge, capabilities and necessary technical skills required for undertaking current projects and project management practice. The business environment comprises opportunities and challenges as well, and I firmly believe that this course would provide me with an in-depth understanding of the challenges of the global business environment. The Master of Project Management is carefully designed as it focuses on enhancing the technical skills concerned with the field, such planning and execution projects. Its foundational modules underpin the basics of project management. In addition to this, the program also covers behavioral aspects of the field, for example, teamwork and leadership, both of which are essential component of the project management activities. Hence, the foundational units, combined with practical modules, will provide a critical overview of the project management ecosystem. One of the key attributes that most businesses look at individuals today is their ability to solve problems, which is where critical thinking and problem-solving skills become necessary. The well-structured strategic marketing and communication course will provide me with excellent background and strengthen my foundation of how to handle and solve problems. The foremost reason for choosing the U.K. for my higher studies is the unconventional pedagogy that the institutes follow, which helps in overall personality development and entices international students. The U.K. is also an educational hub for international students and provides a bilingual environment for overseas students to enrich their cultural experience. The country is contemplated as a prominent study destination for international students in terms of quality of education and post-study opportunities. Being born and brought up in India, a country where various cultures have emanated, I have also been attentive to broaden my intercultural competencies, thus for that cause studying abroad and acquiring a foreign degree that too from University of Law has been one of my primary objectives for an actual career start. In addition to that, I have identified that the applied scope of learning is missing here in India; especially in terms of lab activities and industry partnerships. Moreover, a few top colleges in India that offer a progressive course in Project Management are very competitive and it’s difficult to get admission into due to a skewered applicant to available seat ratio. Apart from that, the other countries that I researched thoroughly to pursue my Master’s degree in Project Management were U.S.A., U.K., and Canada, but due to the cost of tuition fees and living expenses in the U.S.A. and Canada, I had to drop the thought of evaluating the courses in the chosen field. Besides, the process for applying to universities of the U.S.A. is quite lengthy and time-consuming, and the turn-around time of Canadian universities is infinite in my point of view. Thus the U.K. emerged as the best alternative to further tread towards pursuing the postgraduate program in Project Management.
